Current Transformer Know -How:
A current transformer is an electrical
apparatus that is fashioned to provide a flow of current
in the secondary circuit which is precisely perpendicular
to the current flowing in its primary circuit. To gauge
current and monitor the operation of the power network
Current
transformers are used extensively and are
characteristically defined by its current ratio from
primary winding to secondary winding.
Current transformers are the most regularly used in
metering and shield relaying in the electrical power
industry where they help the safest requirement of a
huge currents, often in the existence of high voltages
on the circuit. The current transformer safely isolates
to measure and to control a circuitry from the high
voltages principally present on the circuit is being
calculated. Current transformers are regularly maintained
by passing a single primary turn under a well-insulated
toroidal core with numerous turns of wire wrapped.
Current transformers are used for measuring the flow
of current and monitoring the operation of the power
used. The Current transformer is basically defined by
its current ratio flowing from primary circuit to secondary
circuit. There are some factors that improve the current
transformer accuracy. They are rating factor, load,
external electromagnetic fields, temperature and physical
configuration of Current Transformer.
