High voltage transformers

in scientific applications. Since it has the capacity
to step up the primary voltage to high voltage it is
also called a power

network, medical applications, measurement instruments,

equipments etc. An example of a high voltage transformer
would be the microwave oven. The primary windings are
supplied with 120 VAC. The high voltage transformer
steps up this primary vol tage to a high voltage. The
voltage is increased further by the voltage doubling
work of the capacitor and the diode, in the microwave
oven.
The Low voltage transformer
is also called the magnetic low voltage transformer.
It supplies current in a low form. It is very efficient
and gives protection to the user. The main work of the
low voltage transformer is to lower the risk of an electric
shock. This is used in all household appliances where
it is protects the user from short circuit. This type
of transformer transfers electric energy from one circuit
to another, using magnetic coupling.
The voltage supply of the low voltage
transformer is 12 to 24 volts. It also reduces voltage
up to 12 to 24 volts. It does not generate heat. If,
in case heat is generated, the heat is dispersed. They
are not expensive. They can be installed beneath the
surface. The low voltage lighting equipments can be
set up in a house by the individual without the help
of an electrician. The low voltage transformers can
have a timer installed that can be set for 4, 6 ort
8 hours. Even when the power is on, an electric bulb
can be installed.
Low voltage transformers form a very
useful part of our daily life. It reduces the chances
of a person getting electric shock, it protects us from
short circuit. It is a great boon to the consumers.
It is beneficial to the users - both the residential
and the business consumers. While dealing with electricity,
both the high and the low voltage transformers have
a big role to play. Without electricity, the world today
will be a difficult place to live in. Transformers help
in giving us uninterrupted electric power to our electrical
appliances. It also prevents us from getting electric
