2nd super grid transformer is all set to be shipped

THE release of the 2nd super grid transformer to Bramley Frith Electrical Substation is all set to take place this Sunday. The 150-tonne transformer is speculated to arrive in the village between 11.30am and 12.30pm after traveling along the M3 all the way from Southampton. The 1st massive piece of paraphernalia brought the village to a standstill, when it was distributed on Sunday, February 17.The new transformer forms the integral part of a joint project carried out by National Grid and Scottish and Southern Energy to vitalize the electricity deliver in the Basingstoke area. Paul Ellis, the project manager for National Grid, told: "The 1st delivery went really healthy, with hundreds of Bramley dwellers coming to see the delivery, which was grand."

RESTORATION OF TRANSFORMER IN Mascoutah

Mascoutah has commended about $1.8 million in spending to order the essential components as part of a $4.4 million restoration to the city's main transformer structure. The project will reinstate the current transformer with a fresh one to improve dependability.

"Our chief transformer was in overkill of 25 years old after it was put in use," told City Manager Terry Draper at the Monday City Council meeting. "We were aware of the epoch and dependability of that transformer.” The City Council consented ordering for manufacture of the $930,189 transformer from Kuhlman Electric Corporation of Versailles, Ky. The transformer will be built over 38 weeks before release and installed by December 2008.

Transformer Failure Cause a dull day for Casinos

LAS VEGAS – efficacy officials blamed a transformer failure on last Wednesday for a power outage that affected 4 Las Vegas Strip resorts and left dozens of populace stuck in elevators for more than an hour. Nil injuries were reported among people who got stuck in the elevators until fire-fighters and hotel staff members reached them at the Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur and 4 Seasons hotels, fire representatives and hotel officials said. Casinos stayed open and operating with their maximum reserve power, and officials said generators afforded electricity for security and essential hotel functions at the properties, which totals more than 13,000 rooms that are operated or managed by giant in the casino industry MGM Mirage Inc.

Chip Inductors Boost Production Yields

Fastron's SMT wire wound chip inductors make certain a high yield in production application, such as impedance matching, LC resonant circuit, circuit isolation and RF filters.

Rapid Electronics has released nine new ranges of exterior mount chip inductors from Fastron. Featuring gold flash padding metallization for improved solder ability. Each item in the inductor series is made of ferrite material, has high Q values, a tolerance of between 5 and 10% in addition to operating temperature from -55 to +125C.

Low-Voltage Timers

If you have external short voltage lighting, it is simple to manage that by a timer also. The timer is a component of the transformer which converts the 120-volt home current to low voltage, normally 12 volts. The timer and transformer are enclosed within a water-resistant housing that mount everywhere inside or out.

Basically attach the low-voltage electric wiring to the transformer, mount the detachable timer pins to spin the system on and off at the preferred times, set the timer for the current time of day, and plug it in.

Be conscious that timer or transformers are rated for a certain number of fittings, and exceeding the allowed number of fixtures can root the transformer to overheat or else fail to function properly. When acquiring or upgrading a transformer, pursue the manufacturer's directions on sizing the unit to match the number of illumination you have.

Inductors Are Designed For Space-Saving Designs

The HM69T sequence of shell mount power inductors from BI Technologies recommend short DCR ratings in cost as well as space proficient 7.4 x 7.2 x 5.0mm packages. The condensed footprint make the HM69T sequence inductor preferably suitable for space saving design, together with those applications with controlled printed circuit plank space, says David Smolik, Chief of Product Development for BI Technologies.

Coupled with a tense DCR tolerance of +/-3% in addition to price proficient packaging, the inductor is particular for high volume power supply application, such as voltage regulators and power circuits for central processing unit.
